#LLSTORY - Jeremy MacAulay

#LocalLegendsStory! This one is from a close friend of Local Legends, Jeremy MacAulay!

"Hey! My name is Jeremy MacAulay and I’m originally from Ottawa, but call PEI home. Growing up I was fortunate enough to spend every summer in Souris, PEI, my father’s hometown. Souris has a special piece in my heart from the bridge jumping at Basin Head to the relaxed days at the cottage I call that place home (even if I’ll always be “from away”).

When I was 10 years old I went to hockey school at Andrew’s hockey school like many young Islanders and got familiar with UPEI. At that very moment I knew that’s where I wanted to study. Staying true to my word the day after I graduated from high school I picked up and moved to PEI. During the summers I fished lobster in Souris and during the school year I spent time in Charlottetown and the VU/Peakes.

UPEI was an amazing experience and I had the opportunity to meet so many great people from PEI and from away. The friends I made in university I’ll have for the rest of my life and I owe PEI to that.

After 4 years of business school I was moved to Nova Scotia for work. When I come across people in my line of work they typically ask where I’m from and without hesitation I answer PEI. Although I’ll always be an “CFA”, PEI is my home and how I’ll always answer."
